The metalworking industry meets in Stuttgart this September, and we will be there: with our own booth at the East Entrance. At AMB 2026, Genow shows how industrial sales and service teams work with specialised AI agents: not another chat window, but colleagues that genuinely know your product portfolio, your technical documentation and your grown system landscape.

AMB 2026 at a glance

AMB has been the leading trade fair for metalworking since 1982 and takes place in Stuttgart every two years. In 2026 it runs under the claim “Where metal comes alive” from Tuesday 15 September to Saturday 19 September at the Messe Stuttgart exhibition grounds.

Around 1,200 exhibitors are expected across ten themed halls covering the entire machining value chain: machine tools, precision tools, clamping technology, metrology, control and drive technology, automation and robotics, and industrial software. AMB is a trade-visitor-only event. The audience is made up of production managers, design engineers, manufacturing leads, buyers and executives from machine building, automotive, aerospace, and tool and mould making.

These industries are our home ground. Anyone selling a portfolio of thousands of variants, options and technical constraints knows the problem we solve.

Why complex product portfolios are the bottleneck in sales

In metalworking, price alone rarely decides. What decides is whether the proposed solution holds up technically. And that is exactly where sales and service teams hit their limits:

  • The portfolio is bigger than any one head. Thousands of articles, series, materials and accessory combinations, plus country-specific approvals and phase-out models. Nobody has the full picture.
  • The knowledge is scattered. Data sheets in SharePoint, master data in the ERP, previous projects in the CRM, operating limits in application reports, and the rest in the heads of two or three experienced colleagues.
  • The long tail stays on the shelf. People sell what they know. A large share of the portfolio simply never shows up in a quote, even when it would have been the better answer to the enquiry.
  • Product experts are the bottleneck. Every non-trivial enquiry lands with the same few people. That costs days, and the competitor who answers faster wins.

Generic AI assistants do not help much here. They do not know the company’s terminology, they have no access to the relevant systems, and when in doubt they invent a plausible-sounding answer. In a technical proposal, that is not a time saving. It is a risk.

What we show at AMB: everyone is a product expert now

At the booth we start from a real example and walk through how a customer enquiry turns into a solid solution recommendation: which products are even eligible for this use case? Which variants and options fit the technical constraints? And where does every single statement come from?

Genow is an AI Workspace for industrial sales. Inside it work specialised agents, each of which genuinely masters one job, instead of one tool that does everything a little:

  • Configuration Agent: turns a customer requirement into concrete, technically suitable products and variants, with the reasoning attached.
  • Research Agent: pulls together what is internally known about the customer, the application and the competition.
  • Proposal Agent: drafts proposal and tender text from verified sources instead of boilerplate from two years ago.
  • Service Agent: answers technical follow-up questions from documentation and history, long after the sale.

Underneath sits the Genow Context Engine. It connects structured data such as ERP and CRM content with unstructured sources such as data sheets, manuals and presentations, and interprets them in the right technical context. Two principles matter to us here:

  • Connected, not migrated. Your systems stay where they are. No data migration as a precondition.
  • Every answer with a source. Every statement is linked to the underlying document and passage, verifiable in one click.

On top of that comes the framework industrial companies expect: developed and operated in Germany, ISO 27001, GDPR compliance and alignment with the EU AI Act. More on our security and compliance page.
