On 22 and 23 September 2026, the European AI, data and quantum community meets at AIDAQ in the bcc Berlin. Genow is taking part this year, and we are represented on stage as well: on the second day of the summit, our co-founder and CEO Dr Sara Jourdan speaks about why AI agents in industry rarely fail because of the technology and almost always because of missing context.
The session: “Context Beats Chance”
Wednesday, 23 September 2026, 14:00 to 14:20, AI & Data Expert stage, “Talent, Workforce & AI Literacy” track. The session is held in English.
AI agents nearly always work in a demo. Inside a company, where the relevant information sits scattered across systems that grew apart over decades, the picture looks different. The model is rarely the reason. What matters is that retrieving the right information is not enough on its own: to deliver reliable results in sales and service, agents also have to know the company’s business rules, the dependencies inside the product portfolio and the logic behind every configuration.
That is what this session is about. Sara shows how contextual knowledge lets agents derive and apply that logic, and what role an agent harness plays: a frame that guides agent behaviour for a specific use case instead of leaving the outcome of a single prompt to chance.
The thread running through it is a real project at a global industrial company, where sales teams use agents to identify and configure the right solution from a portfolio far too large for any one person to hold in their head.
Alongside that come the practical lessons from building, deploying and scaling such a system across a worldwide organisation: from integrating distributed data sources, to the question of how outcomes become reliable, to the point where sales people genuinely use the system every day.
What you will take away
- Why agents so often fail to make the jump from demo to daily corporate use, and what actually causes it.
- What an agent needs to know about a company to turn a customer requirement into a technically sound recommendation.
- How an agent harness keeps agents inside a company’s business rules and configuration logic.
- What this looks like in practice at a globally operating industrial company.
- What really gets hard when rolling out across countries, systems and teams, from data integration to adoption in sales.
Who the session is for
Sales and service leaders in industrial companies with products that need explaining, IT and data leaders who have to carry AI initiatives technically, and anyone trying to move an AI pilot out of trials and into everyday operation.
Two days on AI, data and quantum
AIDAQ brings together specialists, decision-makers and innovation leads from industry, academia and politics. Across more than 140 sessions, the focus is on current developments, concrete application examples and the successful adoption of new technologies inside companies.
The programme runs across four stages:
- Vision Dome: strategic perspectives and future pathways.
- Action Stage: application and adoption in individual industries.
- AI & Data Expert: technical deep dives on AI and data, where Sara speaks.
- Quantum Expert: technical deep dives on quantum technologies.
For Genow, the summit is a valuable opportunity to encounter new perspectives and to exchange ideas with other experts about putting AI to practical use.
Dr Sara Jourdan as a speaker
Sara earned her doctorate in artificial intelligence at Technische Universität Darmstadt, including a research stay at the University of Cambridge. Before that she completed her degree in industrial engineering at TU Darmstadt. Today she combines that scientific expertise with the practical question of how companies can successfully integrate AI into their day-to-day processes.
At Genow, the focus is on making company knowledge from different databases, documents and systems usable in the right context. Sales teams get precise support with complex customer requirements, from selecting suitable solutions through to individual selling arguments and the relevant documents.

Meet us in Berlin
We are on site on both days, and a conversation on the sidelines of the programme usually gets further than any brochure. If you are facing the same task, meaning scattered knowledge, a large product portfolio and a sales team expected to answer quickly and with evidence, we are glad to work through it on your own example.
The easiest way is to agree a time with us in advance:
If you cannot make it to Berlin: in a 30-minute demo we show the same use cases on your own documents.

What is the "Context Beats Chance" session about?
About why AI agents convince in a demo and still struggle once they are deployed across large, fragmented corporate data environments. Retrieving the right information is not enough: to deliver reliable results in sales and service, agents also have to understand a company's business rules, the dependencies inside its product portfolio and its configuration logic. The session shows how contextual knowledge makes exactly that possible, and how an agent harness guides agent behaviour for a specific use case.
Does the session include a real-world example?
Yes. The thread running through it is a real project at a global industrial company, where sales teams use agents to identify and configure the right solution from a highly complex product portfolio. Alongside that come the lessons from building, deploying and scaling such a system worldwide, from integrating distributed data sources to adoption in sales.
Who is the session relevant for?
Sales and service leaders in industrial companies with products that need explaining, IT and data leaders who have to carry AI initiatives technically, and anyone trying to move an AI pilot out of trials and into everyday operation.
